Vachetta leather is a renowned type of vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, widely used by luxury brands for crafting bags and accessories. It is vegetable-tanned using plant-based tannins and has an intact full-grain surface that preserves its natural beauty. This particular Vachetta leather comes from our partner tannery in the Tuscany region of Italy.

Made from carefully selected hides, this premium leather is very clean, with minimal blemishes and a beautiful grain. The vegetable tanning process, using a unique blend of mimosa and quebracho extracts, gives it a perfect natural color, just the right amount of sheen, and a smooth, soft feel. The tanning process, along with the balanced fat content in the hide, makes it softer than other vegetable-tanned leathers. The flesh side is clean, buffed, and soft to the touch. Over time, this leather develops a rich and elegant patina.

This premium leather is highly versatile and an excellent choice for a wide range of leathercraft projects, including bags, wallets, bag straps and handles, sandals, small accessories, keychain charms, bracelets, and more. Italian Vachetta leather Sides: 18–20 sq ft, and we also offer Double Shoulders: 12–14 sq ft.
