MBT Waxed Thread - Tuscan Red, 200 Meter Spool
This thread is made in Japan from 100% polyester yarn. What makes it special is the technology behind it: a heat-bondable yarn is inserted into the center of three twisted yarns. When heat is applied, the inner yarn melts and bonds the three together from the inside, creating a strong, stable core.
This unique structure gives MBT its signature “shape memory”, it resists unwinding and naturally returns to its original form, even if twisted or loosened. The result is smoother stitching, cleaner thread lines, easier needle threading, and unmatched strength and durability.
The wax is melted and absorbed into the core of the thread, not just coated on the surface.
The right amount of wax keeps it from sticking to your hands while providing excellent control, tension, and flow during stitching. This thread is an ideal choice for hand stitching and perfect for any leathercraft project.
Each spool comes with a thread net to prevent unraveling, ensure smooth dispensing, and protect the thread from dust.
MBT thread is available in 19 colors. For each thread color, a matching water-based leather dye is available to ensure maximum color consistency in your projects. Thread and dye are sold separately.
